Chinese Medicine is based on the theory of Meridian(経絡). Meridian is a system or channel that transport qi, the energy that is the source of life and blood. There are 12 symmetrical channels in the body and each of those channels are connected to internal organs. Accupoints are located on the Meridian and are the points where the qi flows in and out.

One of the basic tenements of Eastern Medicine is to balance the flow of qi in the Meridian system. When there are disruptions to be flow of qi, people feel unwell or even fall ill.

Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan are combined with Meridian theory, internal exercise as the core.
